Diane Arbus



Añado otro capítulo nuevo de influencias que inspiran a David y a su equipo para la realización de sus colecciones y puestas en escena. En este caso se trata de la fotógrafa Diane Arbus.

Diane Arbus nace en el año 1923 en Nueva York, en el seno de una familia adinerada de la que volará apenas cumplidos los dieciocho años, cuando contrae matrimonio con Allan Arbus, del que toma el apellido que le hizo celebre y con el que firmo su vasto legado en el mundo de la fotografía. Comenzó su andadura realizando editoriales para las principales publicaciones de moda de la época como Esquire o Vogue, pero pronto llegó a la conclusión de que lo que en realidad le llamaba la atención era el retrato de la humanidad o mejor dicho ilustrar los defectos que encierra.De esta forma Arbus, sería conocida a partir de ese momento, como la coleccionista de horrores. Dedicó el resto de su prolífica trayectoria, a retratar a seres extraordinarios, niños de aspecto enfermizo, transformistas en proceso de metamorfosis, gemelas...o como ella los denominaba ''Seres marginales''.La base de su innovadora técnica fotográfica recala en la utilización del flash de relleno (durante el día) y la mirada directa del retratado al objetivo, lo que hace que sus defectos se vean magnificados.

En la trayectoria de David, Arbus se encuentra muy presente:Ayudó al diseñador como inspiración para su primera colección presentada en Nueva York, hecho más que destacable en la carrera de Delfín y gracias al nombre de una de sus exposiciones llegó a la ''revelación'' para nominarla: Revelations. También en una de las camisetas del creador aparece en forma de dibujo la celebre foto de sus gemelas.

También se aprecia el influjo de la fotografa en la obra del socio y genial fotografo, Gorka Postigo, al que dedicaremos un post en breve.
Diane ha supuesto una revelación para todos los que hemos podido contemplar su obra, gracias a su peculiar estilo y por ver más allá de las simples taras físicas; por ser capaz de desnudar almas.
